Congratulations. I saw the car at Auto Nouveau and it looked beautiful.

I am also busy with a 68 Coupe, and I have two questions.

First,
Were the rear corner extensions removed when the car was painted?
I ask because you need to remove the corner extensions to bolt the corner trim on and then fit the corner extensions.
The panel beater that painted our car, painted the body without removing the corner extensions. Because I cannot unbolt the corner extensions, this leaves me with no access to bolt the trim on as designed, so I will have to attach the trim using automotive trim adhesive.

Second,
What boot rubber are you using.
I ordered a complete rubber kit from CJ Pony Parts and the boot rubber does not cover the rear section. It also does not clip over the lip of the boot opening and seems like it needs to be glued on. With a seal that does not cover the perimeter of the boot opening, I am sure this will cause leaks.

Hi JMVV

Yeah, we removed the quarter panel extensions as well as the front fender extensions and painted them separately. There is also a seal that goes between the extension and the quarter panel - the Quarter Panel Extension Seal. It obviously makes fitting the trim a lot easier but I think automotive trim adhesive should also do the trick. I notice that the decals are also now available with adhesive and not with studs.

Secondly - I am so glad I am not the only one flummoxed by that flippen bootlid seal!
I used the one from Mustangs Unlimited and had exactly the same problem as you. After lots of head scratching I eventually referred back to the first rule of sukkeling - "Read the F*&king Manual!"
Nice website - "Average Joe Restoration". Turned out the seal needs to be glued onto the bootlid itself and not fitted over the ridge on the body.

Hope this helps!

Boot rubber lying in wait.
So much nicer to do the easy bolt-on stuff. Finding all sorts of excuses to postpone the gluing exercise!

Been quiet for a while but now moving again.
Had quite a problem with the dash because of the Right Hand drive conversion but managed to source some RHD trim and with a bit of head scratching managed to get the Dakota Digital gauges to fit.

Very chuffed that we managed to get the new Aircon unit to work with the original sliding controls. 8)

Been a while since updating - the devil's in the detail and always takes longer than anticipated!
Some pics on where we are now:
