Thanks. I read that the other day. So it seems I have a non ls Lsd. Pity. As it spins easily on grass. I wonder if it's feasible to fit a local diff with diff lock?

I'm by no means a diff expert, but I wonder if it might be feasible to drill and tap a hole in the sealed-off LS unit, drain the fluid, perhaps flush it, fill with the correct stuff, and screw shut with a plug or something.

Hmm, that sounds reasonable.

I must investigate

Hi Racer x

I also got an XH , the 4.0 GLI 5 speed.
Love this car and its ability to move huge loads!

Going to go look at an XR6 this week for my brother in law.

Nice rims!
Are they 17 inch ?

What size are the 2 fuel tanks?
What fuel consumption do you get?

Those are 19'' X5 rims.
On mine the second tank was taken out , but I do have it still.
Remaining tank is 60 liters as far as I know.
In town I get about 8km/l
open road about 11Km/l
But then I do have a heavy foot.

The rims like great.
Ok, so BMW pcd is the same.

I assume then i have 2 60 litre tanks.

That consumption is not bad.
I assume mine will be a bit worse having an auto box.

Thanks

No the Bmw is 5 x 120 , ford is 5 x 114 so needed adaptors to fit
and offset was out so it was quite a bit of trial and error to get the right thickness.
Front rims was narrowed th 7,5 inch to clear the upper control arms.
