1974 Chev Kommando HQ - Monaro Conversion

Post by Johann65 » Fri 11 Sep 2009, 17:44

Here are pics of the 1974 Chev Kommando that (Hopefully) will become a 4dr GTS
If all goes to plan, a progress site will be established with the assistance of Moby302.

I take it you will keep that Chevy Six stashed away as a spare for 1965? :)

The engine and manual box will be cleaned and mothballed. Must check the manual box if it is the same as the Monaro. Have a FullRay shifter to restore and fit! Interesting scenario! Anybody from down under know more about the manual box? Is the Kommando manual box, 3 or 4 speed? Havn't taken a good look yet. Moby302's brochure shows the Trimatic box as standard and the Manual as an option on the Kommando. The 74 Toro (Ute) has a 4 speed manual, might be lucky!

All these comments are stil in the conjecture stage, Anything is possible!

Pity, they wasted good paint! and the radiator must be replaced as it does not have an ATF cooler. Should be running by the end of November. Can't wait to fit the 305! The front strut is supposed to be black not yellow!
