ok so motor has been in and come out again i am getting a vibration from converter side has new 28oz flex plate and damper is fine. when bolting converter to flex it seem to bow the flex plate. what happening here could it be converter ???? this second time out now

ooooo i have made some improvements on the first test fit engine bay has been sprayed and dress up kit is there looking grate and sounds super awesome

Is your convertor seated inside the box and the gearbox pump??
Before you bolt it onto your flex plate.

That is a very clean Sierra, and a sleeper with the 8 installed. Looks relatively standard, should bring loads of smiles to your face.

i would say yes listened for the 3 clunks when installing it in to the box this is very funny one as no one i have spoken to had ever come across this problem.

and yes Mojo sleeper is what i am going for leaving all decals standard. tried doing conversion as factory and standard as possible. xr8 crossmember and all

Hi there.......was there perhaps a manual gearbox attached to this motor previously??

Checked to see if there is still a pilot bush or bearing in the crankshaft?

i took the flex plate and converter in to torque converter center to have checked out going to do a stall in the process then i know they are both right if i get the same problem after this i am going to be a bit stumped. then possibly crank?

3.08 diff

sierra up grades done discbrakes at back and new spring all round aswell as origenal xr8 xmember.

motor almost done here with help from my dad Nicol and uncle Chris Gerber and my at that time 8month old boy Lian.

day motor went in was not easy but got her in (blood sweat and tears and of course some big words) and a well deserved beer and smoke.

there after came all the hard stuff connecting all parts to engine that gave me some gray hairs as it seemed to be 1 steps forward and 5 back but all has worked out so far radiator in fans on alternator dizzy.
