The reason is quite simple--he wants to make a few bucks.

 Nope, wrong. Not looking to make a quick buck... not at all. I'm not selling 8O its actually a feeler. I buy and sell cars for a living, mostly Golfs, Tazz's and the like. I am hoping to get into the more classic side of buying and selling. Just want to see if there is a market before I start buying older cars (Fords and Chevs mainly) And it seems there is a bit of a market.

BTW. I had a cash offer (last week) from an aquaintance for R60k... obviously, I didnt take it (and its still on the table)

Hopefully thats all cleared up.

Very nice car , I would also not accept R60k for that car, worth quite a bit more in my opinion

Gavin, if you are not prepared to accept R60,000 for a car,why advertise it for R60,000 ?

And why advertise it for R60,000 and then somebody is willing to pay you

the advertised price and then you say...nope,not for sale!

In any event, everyone can do with his/her goods as he or she seems fit. :D

As I said, just a feeler. I think I put a realistic price on there @ R60k. I need to test what people are prepared to pay. If I posted it at R120k, I won't get a response... and that way, I won't be able to see what the buyers market is like. I have at least 3 people that will pay the R60k. I don't tell them its not for sale. I tell them I have taken a deposit on it... so basically its taken.
I am simply testing the waters before I take a leap and buy a couple of Cortina's that I can't move.

For those that are interested, I took the drivers seat out to fix... took a pic of the tag under the seat.

Hate to see our cars leave SA. For some it is only about money. Very sad.
