Another Yellow Capri Perana

Post by TdL351GT » Tue 27 Nov 2007, 21:34

Hi all,

When collecting a 4 speed top loader for the Falcon I found this yellow Perana. And to my surprise the owner was willing to sell it to me. The car was recently restored and the paint is absolutely beautiful. Some small things I need to put back still like the mouldings on the doors, name on bonnet etc. This guy liked a clean bonnet but I want the name FORD back where it should be. A hurst shifter makes for very short smooth shifts.

A very big thank you to Bertus for his assistance in me buying this car. I hope he is also going to be there for me when the trouble starts at home. Took all the grocery money for the Capri. 8O 8O

regards

That's fantastic. At this rate there is some hope that these cars are finding stable homes.

The nice thing about this is that the more you okes buy more cars the less ill I feel about our "shrinking" fleet compared to some of you. Sorry, some of our club members or support group.

Hi

Baie geluk met die nuweling!

Kitchen cupboards or food tins - what is the difference? I always have to hear you can always get another cupboard/tin, but you won't get an opportunity to buy a car like this again. After all these years we (the poor wifes) have learned to accept that if it does not have wheels, then there is not enough money to buy it!

Enjoy it!

Really nice car Theuns :!:

Magda you are unusual - unlike most other wives I'm sure you are equally responible for blowing the grocery money on something sensible with a V8

Congrats that is one very, very clean Perana....interesting to note that speedo is in km/h meaning its most likely a 1971 model.

Like the Hurst shifter but will post up my rather unique shifter that probably works just as well.....

Hope you have many happy km's.... :D

Jacques,

1970 Perana's also had metric speedos, at least after April. From 1st April 1970 it was law that EVEYTHING was metric in ZA. Most manufacturers strated changing over late 1969/early 1970.

Interesting, our Perana still has 140 MPH speedo and is 10-70 build....though this might indicate that the body had been built before April or BG just fitted what he had lying around......
