My 69 Camaro

Post by Burnthosetyres » Thu 15 Sep 2011, 10:05

From older posts you probably know I hunted a 69 for almost a year, and bought one and had to go legal with all sorts of empty promises. I eventually bought one in April from Brad in CPT. Ive been slowly bust colouring in the picture correctly. Need to take some decent photos, but shes getting there.

Traced some history of the car, was owned by Sean McKay from Cars Unlimited and built, without budget by Martin Davis from Custom Classics to do the 2009 Cannonball run. Afterwards the car could not be sold, 'cos the price tag was obscene. Eventually most of the imported groceries were removed and the car was sold to Brad Hall from 4 play classics. Brad managed to buy back most of the groceries, and put them back in the car, Except the crate motor, which Gunter bought and still has.....

Brad stripped the car and put his stamp on it, with the help of Simon at Old Mill. I bought the car from Brad, and have been slowly busy with detail and touch ups from front to rear. Now everything works, well almost, the pipes and pumps from the vacume light covers are missing, and going to bring in an elecronic kit, and the radio is faulty. Other than that new wipers, hooter, headlight globes, and adjusted, cubby now closes, new boot rubber sorted and tidied the motor, etc. Still want to respray inside engine bay, after filling factory holes.

Car has Aly heads, RPM airgap manifold, flaming river steering rack and column, Heids front and rear suspension, Limited slip diff, vented and slotted discs with 6 pot calipers to name a few groceries.

Shes quick, sticks to the road, breaks well, but is hard as hell, you feel every bump and kidney belt and colonoscopy is extra!
