Re: Racing Sports Cars
Eric Brockhaven built Lolettes, and later Lolette beach buggies.

Re: Racing Sports Cars
Steve Mellet campained a LDS-Alfa Romeo in the 1964 F1 season, later on in the 60s he drove various sports cars.
He built two Mirages, not to be confused with the European cars of the same name. Read more here:http://forums.autosport.com/showthread. ... adid=47108 (there a good photo there too)

Re: Racing Sports Cars
Sadly Mellet's Mirage did not make a huge impact as it seemed really unreliable and most races it never saw the chequered flag. It looked good, ram tubes and all but I don't remember it being on the scene for long. So what happened to it?
I don't remember his first version of the Mirage - maybe a bit too young then...
John do you contribute to the Atlas F1 forum?

I mostly lurk on Atlas - those okes are older and wiser than me. Have made a post or two. Interesting stuff there, especially in TNF, but it takes a lot of diging to find. it
Don't know what happened to the Mirage. I'll ask Jannie next time I email him.

Re: Racing Sports Cars
Just to continue on the TNF forum John, I am always astounded by the knowledge some of those blokes have. One wonders if some of them were born in cars. I mean here (AMC) we have quite a lot of accumulated knowledge. But it seems absolutely nothing stumps these guys. I have often thought of sending in a really obscure question to see it anyone knows the answer.
