Just when you thought it was safe......
A final post on this thread.
Got back safe and sound and worn out last week.
Decided yesterday to pull the Perana out of the garage ready for a final check before going down to the "Top Gear" test track on Thursday.
Just squeezed down the side of the car to poop the keys in the ignition and then squeezed back along to the front of the car. A piece of polythene sheet I have stapled to the shelving got caught in my foot and as I tramped through it I heard a thud behind me.
I turned and saw a 2.5 litre paint tin had toppled off the top shelf and landed on the floor. Well, to be precise it didn't hit the floor first. It landed on the front wing of the Perana then hit the floor.
Thus a one inch dent in the wing meant an emergency dash to my painter (who is already under pressure with one of my Capri's) and it should be back to me tomorrow for final checks.
Moral of the story - no matter how careful you think you are being - be MORE careful!!
On a positive note the paint tin contained Gunston Orange!!
