Need some V8 help

Post by Cross Flow Lotus7 » Mon 19 May 2014, 13:47

Hi Guys,

My brother has been offered an opportunity to buy a Cobra that has been built recently (2013/14) with brand new fibreglass and new chassis. The car is powered by a ford v8 motor with jag suspension. It is on the road licensed. What price should he pay? Seeing it is not a backdraft cobra....any questions that he should pose?

Car comes from a deceased estate....

Thnks kindly...

The most important thing is to try and determine if it has been built properly.

Thanks guys, I did see those on the market...is there specifics he should be asking though? Which is best a manual gearbox or an auto? What diff is suitable, does the styling of the wheel have a big impact on the price...etc

Without pictures we can't help you ... If the car has the most expensive engine and drivetrain and the fanciest wheels but has been assembled incorrectly than it's still going to be a headache that you will have to take apart and fix ... Being a cobra you get very good ones and very bad ones ...

Extremely true.

The best combination in my opinion for a Cobra is a 351 V8 with a 4 speed toploader but generally autos are favoured due to the narrow footwell.
