Close enough, Wing!
That's Peter Gough opening the door of Denis Joubert's Chevron B8 at the Van Riebeeck Trophy races, Killarney in 1969. You get a years supply of beer
These things are getting too easy!

Re: HI-FI's QUIZ 7
68/69/70 were a good time for B8s. If my hazy memory is correct there were at least 5 running in ZA:
Jobert's white one
Jack Holme's red one
Two more from KZN - one light blue, and one yellow
Another one, Transvaal based? - dark green or dark blue?
Got no reference material to hand so that is just a quick guess.

Re: HI-FI's QUIZ 7
I think you are right there, John. As far as I remember Denis Joubert bought his car off Digby Martland? who shared with Brian Redman in the 1968 9 hour. His was the first B8 to race in the country and Joubert bought it straight after the series finished. The other B8's followed after the finish of the 1969/70 Springbok Series. I remember Jack Holme in his red one. The yellow car was raced by Ortlepp and Taylor in the 1970 9 hour and by Garth McGillewey in the Cape 3 hour of that year. Bruce Van Der Merwe shared the red car with Jack Holme in that race. Later on there was a black B8 from the Transvaal. I can't remember who raced that car.

There are a couple of replicas racing at Zwartkops. Peter du Toit has one and I think the current Ortlep car is another

Re: HI-FI's QUIZ 7
A bit off the B8 subject , but round about that time we had 2 other sportscars racing on a permanent bases in CT ... one was a Marco , just can't remember what the other was, but Ronny Hare's names sort of pops up

Ronnie Hare bought Garth McGilleweye's Elfin T300 and raced it for a short while. He never drove it like McGillewey though. He took part in one 9 hour and one Cape 3 hour.
I don't remember a Marco. There was the Victory Motors Mini Marcos driven by Piet Van Niekerk at one stage.

Jan Kriel (or was it Driedyk) raced a Mamba. Terrible looking thing that wasn't around for long.
Brian Barry raced a Palbin which was a copy of the Chevron B8
