Theres a procedure in the workshop manual I think for correctly aligning the gearbox links. If I remember its to connect them loosely so they stay in place, then move the level in neutral from side to side, then fasten them. That worked for me to get them right (and fix ones that gave problems).
I might not be remembering it 100% but if you have a manual check it out in there.

On the Capri you pass a rod through the little hole in the end plate and through all three levers to hold them set in neutral then tighten up on the gearbox end (with the gearbox levers in the neutral position).

Hi guys, i can no longer post pics updates on this thread as the website bombs me out with an error message "you pictures must be less than 1024 pixels high".
Pics are the same size as always, always hosted by Photobucket so i don't know. And they work fine on all the other forums I'm posting this on
