1963 Buick Riviera

Post by IndianaJones » Sun 19 Apr 2015, 21:20

Saw this on Gumtree...

1963/1964 Buick Riviera (advertised as a 1970) - R140000

Just love the styling of these cars, American Muscle with a European flair.

I was surprised that the seller described it as a 1970 Buick Riviera (Makes me wonder if the papers are in order). Given that most Buick buffs believe that the '63/64s are probably the only Rivieras more collectible than the Boat-tail. If the papers are in order and my funds were permitting I think I would try to talk the seller down a touch as there could be value there.

Looks like someone is trying to pull a fast one......

In April the car was listed at R140,000

The on the 4th of May John Coetzee lists it at R100,000

.... Just because it's got a "Wildcat" Decal on the air filter dose not necessarily make it 465, may well be a 425, check the numbers!

The '465' etc. air cleaner decals referred to the torque rating of those Buick V8's 50 years ago, not their displacement let alone horsepower......
