VALUE OF CAR MAGAZINES

Post by johan wepener » Sat 20 Feb 2016, 10:58

This is not an advertisement, I just want to get the opinion of fellow members

as to the value of CAR magazines.

I never thought the day will come but due to health issues we are in the process

of selling our house with its ample space and moving to a town house in a security complex.

I have a full set of Car magazines. From the very first issue in March 1957

to this day. The condition of the magazines is nothing short of immaculate.

In adition I have a few Car publications with numerous road tests done by Car.These

tests date back to 1960's 1970's.

What do members think is a reasonable asking price ?

The only issue I don't have is Feb 1957.....

Its hard to put a value on a collection like this...
Alfa GTV 3.0
Ford Capri Perana V8
Chevy Lumina Supercharged

Wait not for tomorrow to do what can be done today, live each day for one knows not what the next day may hold.

Thanks for the response.

Johann ,I agree, the collection must go to a good custodian. It took me almost

15 years to collect the magazines from March 1957 to late 1970's. I subscribed

late 1970's to this day.

Those oldies were collected from all over the country....Durban,PE,Houbay.

I also have the full set from Feb 57 to date - including the full set of Technicar when they were separate. Also took many years to get the set complete.
