Re: 1973 Granada/Consul Coupe v6
Due to the INSANE amount of mods I wanted to do to the 302 ... we have turned that into another long haul project!
So for now - complete rebuild of the 3.0 essex v6
old suspension out ...
new rebuilt suspension in (Thanks Shayne Lutchman!)
0.40 thou high compression pistons being assembled
fresh cut crank in ...
cleaned and resprayed sump ready to roll ...
Kent V63 cam ready to be put in ...
stripped ... hope we remember how to put her back together again! lol!
new pistons into freshly machined and cleaned block ...
cleaning the intake ... this was made by the legendary Chief Peformance Parts in Parow BACKKK in the day ...
twin Weber 40 DFAV's ... yes yes i know ... they are impossible to tune ... we're gonna try anyways. Running a Holley Electric pump ... good quality braided hose and JEGS connectors with a Holley Fuel Pressure regulator ... hopefully it works fine ... if not you can ALL say - I told you so ...hahahaha ... but nothing ventured nothing gained!
amazing custom air cleaner which I think was made by Chief too along with the linkages - very good quality considering when this was made!
getting there ...
with the new tappet covers I sourced to mockup ... but me thinks I am just going to switch back to the standard covers and ceramic coat ... i hate that it needs to be "wikkled" to force to fit - screw it (anybody wanna buy some tappet covers??)
blanking off where the old pump went ...
some bits and bobs have arrived from Burton ... yay
bodywork ...
over fenders have arrived ... cannot wait to get the widened wheels back to test fit!!!
... the aim of all of this madness rendered in Photoshop
... that's it for now

Re: 1973 Granada/Consul Coupe v6
Some more updates ...
The Ford Stealth Grey is really looking good on the car. Cannot wait to see it all polished and such.
So happy with the decision to de-chrome all trim and have them powder coated satin black
The v6 ready to roll - now with a Holley 390. Cannot wait to hear her roar with the planned side exit pipes in front of the rear wheels. Tuning should be a breeze with the Innovate Motorsport Air/Fuel Sensor Kit I am eagerly awaiting.
Inside of cabin should be nice and quiet thanks to the Silent Coat sound deadening mat.
Back end is so clean now with the shaved and frenched back bumper - might still need to close up exhaust exit if we go with the planned side exit pipes
Custom double diaphragm brake booster setup from Winbrake and all new brake lines bent up and laid out. I have 3D printed some nice clean brake line separators (but that is for another post)
New fender bolts looking neat as all hell
Interior ready to go in - this has been the greatest success of this build for me so far. It came out 100 times better that I had envisioned.
... next up is hid retrofit of headlights and custom made indicators plus the front mounted 10 row oil cooler ... here is a mockup of it so far
... thats all for now folks
