Sympathies to family and friends.

Talented racer. Great engineer. Story teller of note. A gentleman.

I treasure the few times I met him.

So so sad to hear about Oom Koos' passing. One of the all time greats. In my mind while growing up, he personified local motorracing the way Frik du Preez personified Springbok rugby. In later years when I started fiddling and modifying cars (this was well before internet and cell phones), he was one of the very few people you could call and ask silly questions of. Always patient, always happy to help, always had an interesting story to add. He'll be sorely missed. Everyone will probably remember him a different way, the racer, the story teller. I'll remember him as he would walk around in Killarney pits, little screw driver in his pocket and ready to help tune a set of sidedraughts, 'sommer so op die oor'.

Dankie Oom Koos, mag jy in vrede rus.

Sorry to hear this.

Very sad.

He was a legend in the history of South African motorsport.

Spoke to him a few years ago about technical things I do not have a clue of.

Very patient and helpful. A gentleman.

Condolences to his family.

RIP. Never met him, but my uncle told me many stories about him.
Seemed like a proper stand up guy.
