*SOLD* Ford 390 FE.

FORD 390 FE Motor Galaxy, Mustang in pieces

Please read carefully to save you from the hassles I had with this build. I have:

390 block, bored to 4.112” according to a very experienced engine builder (they didn’t bore it), which resulted in 0.002” too big for the 0.0.60” pistons. Block sounds solid, ready to take the next overbore which will bring it to 4.13”. You should be able to source those pistons with the correct 390 pin heigt. In fact, one can even have pistons made for 4.112” bore – at a price. Or sleeve the block to a smaller piston.

4.11”, used pistons

crank which may need to be gound to fit the 0.10 bearings.
Heads which need new valves. 2-barrel cast iron intake
Assorted odds and ends to complete the motor.
R4.000 for above

New rings, 4.05 – 60 thou = 4.11” ($100)
new -10 main and rod bearings (Celvite) ($150)
R2.000

Gasket set
R1.500

For R7.500 you can take a chance and assemble the motor back as is. Without cam.

Aluminium 4-barrel intake manifold, divided plenum C6AE9425-E ($400+ in USA)
R4.000

Holley 4-barrel carb, probably 0-1850, condition unknown. I have a few parts to rebuild.
R2.000

Cam/lifter, timing and valve spring set Competition Cams K33-226-4, new ($450+, plus import)
R8.000

Total, discounted
R16.000

:-)

Nice one, let's talk. I should have kept our block, even if it was only a 332 or 352..

Let's talk in the week.

Do you still have the 327/350 parts?

Hi,

I am looking for iron heads but with 3 bolt exhaust ports per cylinder. Also exhaust manifolds with same 3 bolt exhaust ports.

Would need to know the date codes if you have these parts?

MIne are 2 bolt exhausts, as are the exhaust manifolds. But the heads need oversize valves. Stems are worn.
I had approximately 20 sets of heads, and never a pair with 3 bolt exhausts. You may want to consider converting to the 2 bolt version.

Hi

No I need the 3 bolt version as those are the ones that are required on the 67/68 mustang as you cant get to the bolt heads due to the shock tower locations. Thanks for checking however.... I had to ask you never know what people have.. I will probably end up having to import from USA.

I see... Just looked briefly at your project! Let me ask in Germany, too.

How can I mark this "sold"?

I keep the parts and bring pistons from my next trip to Germany. Either to fit the bore as is, or standard to sleeve the block down.
