Thanks, yes it included new components, the air bags were about R1800 ea(thats the only non Jag part) the rest was all worn out.IndianaJones wrote:Great job on that, looks amazing Chev58.Chev58 wrote:Parts cost total came to a few ZARs short of R22k installation to chassis not included.
Did it include the new brakes, air ride and shocks? Or the rebuilt steering rack?

I'm actually still waiting for them, should be here in the week to come. Not a Jag, more like my own concoction...lots of research and some backyard design and this is what I ended up with. Now I'm praying it works!!

What options do you recommend over the JAG route. Also where would you buy a Mustang II Suspension kit. For my purposes it would to drag race.

Re: Hot Rod front suspension?
There was at least one Cobra Kit in Germany which utilized the complete axles (uncut), front and rear. Spring selection is a challenge and coil overs won't fit in the front. If you get all sexy about Ackermann steering you have to correct the steering arm angle. Unless your wheelbase is the same as of the XJ's. The rear needs to be 100% straight in, because as mentioned above, there is very little adjustment (for toe).
And keep the ride height the same as well.
I have rebuilt a set recently, brakes 'n all, and the cost is nearing R20.000 with proper cleaning and coating/painting. There is a chap in Strand (WP) who get the disks much cheaper than at ALFA.
I can also get a set of used axles for you. But honestly, it's better to buy a whole car. if you find one, I take the motor...
