Noob from Jhb

Post by BoerBok » Mon 11 Sep 2017, 13:01

Hi everyone

I'm new around here and hoping to learn a whole bunch.

I'm fairly new to the AMC scene after a venture into corporate business, though older cars have always been a favourite. My most recent 'build', a 1976 F100, has found a new home in Durban while my 'supposedly' own build, another 1975 F100, has found a home with my buddy... It wasn't my choice, but hey!

Currently I am busy with a 1966 Dodge D100 with the Slant Six for myself; the idea is to build a patina car and try retain the Six. I'm also expecting a 1965 International Harvester soon with a similar build plan. In terms of engines I am busy refreshing a 1966 FE 390 with BE & mains, rings, timing set, oil pump and a few other bits while keeping the standard 2bbl intake for the torque delivery. Next up is a 351C with 2v heads and 2bbl intake which might go into the IH; time will tell!

Would appreciate any advice and looking to learn and read a whole lot!

Cheers!
T

Thanks Ters!

Here we go: pretty well worn, but original paint and everything else stock as well. Numbers match ID plate too, but the usual pan, rocker cancer that'll be cut out and replaced. Slant six starts but starter unhappy, so that is getting fixed. I plan on keeping it just like that outside with a bit more attention inside. Good thing is the Mrs loves it too!
