1971 CHEV KOMMANDO: FLANCE GASKET CODE

Post by johan wepener » Mon 27 Nov 2017, 16:00

I need a flange gasket which fits between the manifold and upper end of the exhaust on my Kommando with

4100 engine.

Can someone please help me with the correct code for the gasket or where I can buy one? These items are

apparently unobtainable. I do not have a sample of the gasket at hand, my Kommando stationed in karoo.

Thanks

Johan

Johan, are you referring to the "O" ring gasket where the exhaust pipe fits into the exhaust manifold?

It was easily obtainable when I needed one a few years back.

AGREE! There are two types! Solid metal and an aluminium type.
Let me know if you need one! I think I have a spare and can get one from Piet!!
My manifold has snapped on that flange! Need to weld!

Kavesh, thanks, I have succeeded in obtaining an "O' ring.

Johann, just to make double sure, is it possible to get me both the gaskets? I will gladly pay for it ,please PM me the

amount including the postage costs and your account number. My postal address is P O BOX 6495 WELGEMOED 7538.

(My Kommando is in Loxton and I want to make very sure it is the correct parts. Loxton is no bigger than Tygervalley centre,

you know what I mean !)

Regards

Johan, the solid metal "O"ring is OEM. The aluminium type is easy to get! I am wondering if the solid metal ring is not the reason the connection broke!! If the one you got is the rough finish then I can get it! That is if you really need it! I am going to Johann at triangle exhaust next week. So no problem to get!!

Hullo Johan,
Just come back from Triangle Exhaust with e new Metal "O" ring!
Johan tells me that he has them manufactured! Box Full!!
He does not recommend the other one as it collapses in a short period of time!!
Cost R50, I bought one. The 2.5, 3.8 and 4.1 use the same Flange size!! Let me know if I must send it down!
Both my manifolds have been repaired!!
