Chev Ss V8 5L automatic 1974 model restoration or sell?

Post by Alida Strydom » Tue 09 Jan 2018, 17:05

Hello i have a Chev SS V8 5L automatic 1974 model.
The car has been standing for a while thus it is not in working condition. It needs a fuel pump,Carborator “fuel leaks out”,new tyres, two new exausts and a mirror.I have been unable to find parts or someone that can help.Does anyone have a contact that can fix it or know of someone who is interested in buying it?
Need advice on selling it or restoring it and how much will i be able to get for it as it is a classic but now in working condition.

Depending on originality and overall condition you should start looking at R120k upwards as a selling price. What I would do is get it running, a running car is always easier to sell and you will get more for it that way.

Alida, please do not sell this car before you have done your homework re the fair value of it.You have at your disposal the

knowledge of several experienced people on this Forum who are able to guide you. It happens frequently that

cars are sold way beyond their real value by sellers who just do not have the knowledge.

Based on what I see there, nothing less than R150k. Very original, likely to be original paint based on the roof and general detailing.

Hold out for R150k because I think you will get it.
