Don't think you're offending anyone, just wanted to know, in order to better be on the lookout.

At this moment in time, and while the above car certainly proves it is not impossible to find a 69 Mach 1 within your budget, we don't know if it was usable as is, Jarod confirms there will still be a lot of money spend on it.
You would be far more likely to find a 69/70 coupe, not a fastback, for your stipulated amount.

But then again, regular contributors here, would know I usually think most classic cars on the market are overpriced, thus in my mind, a 71/72 Mach 1 is a R450k car, they were R250k -R350k cars a year or 2 ago, whilst off late, they are advertised for much more.

If really only those cars will do, be patient, something will pop up, don't limit yourself to what is on the market now, and network, often times these type of cars trade hands, without ever being advertised somewhere.

Thanks for the advice. I also feel that the prices have gone up way to much on these vehicles (only because I don't own one yet, otherwise it has not gone high enough ).

I must also say that I am always willing to look at any opportunity that presents itself. Although it might sometimes sound like I want to buy the first thing that crosses my path(excitement), I am not in a hurry to part with the cash.

Will have do do a lot of homework on any vehicle that looks to be an opportunity. That is where you guys, the experts, come in. That is why I joined the forum. To be able to get an honest opinion and advise.

There are cars out there.. just be patient. I bought a decent running 1 owner 71 Mach1 2 years ago. Had a poor paint job done at some stage. Car has been stripped to bare metal, some minor rust repaired and has been primed. Still a long way from completion but will be for sale once done.

I also picked up this 70 Mach 1 ( 351c, aluminium heads, American Racing wheels ) for under 600k (originally advertised for 750). This one I'll keep.

I am very sure that was my 69 Mustang 351W with a manual gearbox!! I sold it to a friend in Klerksdorp for R.5 000. I painted it yellow for him!!
I remember the stripes. The car I did see +/- 20 years back in Goodwood Cape Town when I was on holiday! I am not joking!! 1978.

Looks like it still needs to be restored (maybe just bad pics). If so, surely this price cannot be correct or am I just to broke to afford such a car?

Feels like these prices on these cars are completely crazy. Or are people actually getting paid these prices for these cars?
