It is like a certain XR8 that is still standing after we last saw it!Gunter wrote:Knowing the owner....if you are not afraid of a shot gun ,then you can get pics. Actually a very sad story, this famous car deserves a proper resto job - in my opinion this will never happen.

My humble apologies, of course I was thinking of Nick Sheward

Yes, Johan - about the same state of affairs as that "XR8" , at the least that XR8 owner is just optimistic and not arrogant like the Anglia man!
No , not a Clive W .....Classic man and me are on the same track - lets just leave it there, the more people enquire the more this guy becomes difficult!!

Lovely pictures. Strange that it is so orange - I remember it being bright red. When and where were those taken?
Do you have any more?

Re: ex GORDON BRIGGS BROADSPEED ANGLIA
The pictures were originally 35mm colour slides which I converted to digital by photographing the illuminated slide in a slide viewer. I think colour reproduction of the original slide probably wasn’t that good because I agree, I have a feeling that car was a bright red not orange. I don’t recall the year in which I took them but I think it would’ve been the early nineteen seventies. The picture of the rear end was taken at a quarter mile drag strip about 20km outside Port Elizabeth. I have a feeling that I took the front picture at Kyalami but I may be wrong. I sadly don’t seem to have any more photographs of this lovely car. It was absolutely amazing for a 1000cc engine in the nineteen sixties! The handling was fantastic as well.

Hi five.wing, thanks for the really good pictures. They bring back a lot of memories. I'm sure these would have been taken in 1970. The Ford sponsorship ceased at the end of 1969 for him as it did for Gough, Olthoff, Taylor, Keizan and the like.
