Supplier Details
Guys I want to make a list of suppliers of parts with phone numbers so everybody knows who to contact if they need parts or services.
So if you use somebody for engine spares, interior, rubbers, suspension parts etc. and liked their service please post their details.

Re: Supplier Details
I also think that's a good idea. Why don't you wait till we can give enought numbers and take each number everytime
somebody posts one in this thread for awhile then put them in a contact list.I will see if I can get some numbers
aswell to post.Problem is this thread will have to be bumped up for awhile so it can be active without dissapearing.
Cheers

Re: Supplier Details
Guys as I said before this will be a very long thread if every time someone has details and post it.
The idea is great and just today I was in need of some info which I know I have packed away somewhere but didnt had the time to look for it. My suggestion is to create some sort of data base which could be devided up in categories, like suppliers and specific part no.s for whatever cars we have here on the forum. I know its a lot of work but this could be devided between some of us and whenever Piet Pompies buy a fuel pump for his 57 Ford all he do is to provide the details like part no and supplier and we can then that way build up a data base very quickly.
Besides that we have a few members who also are in the afterparts business who can help a lot.
I was today running around trying to get a set of points and condenser for Macca's GT, and with all my stuff still packed away after my move about two years ago I just couldnt come right with any supplier. No listing or stock...you know the old story. This made me think that if we work this right we can save all members much time and frustrations if we just put in a little bit of effort to get a data base going.
What do you all think about this.

Re: Supplier Details
Easy to get very complicated.
Someone will need to manage it, police it etc.
Great idea if you're volunteering, but be ready for a lot of work.
A simple list is a great start though.

just because you welded it - doesn't mean it's welded......
Re: Supplier Details
That won't work as you will adding part numbers for the next 10 years.Just an example I have mabye72XYGT wrote:Guys as I said before this will be a very long thread if every time someone has details and post it.

20 cars and each different car has about 3000 part numbers.thats 30000 parts numbers for 10 cars.
Also there is 10 different catalogues and each company has a different part number for the same item.
I think lets stick to phone lists of good sevices offered by our local guys.
Cheers
Graeme
