Chrome trim around windows is a give away, also looks to be XW according to the front indicators.

Saw the car when driving past the owners house a couple of times when I was up in Pta. Know he had two GT's there. If im not mistaken he has been working a long time on this one. Actually stopped by his house one day looking for some spares.
Maybe it is a genuine GT with 6cyl doors. If we can have a good pic of the radiater panel it will be more easily to what it really is.

Frik,

Howzit? Is there a MS33 number? Normally on a Fairmont GT a rad support is a good giveaway & I see no photos here!!

Wareling (Francois),

There are many many differences between a 6cyl & a GT body also between a XW & XY. But unfortunately the likes of Frik or myself OR anyone in the know would be very hesitant to explain all the differences on a forum as it would help the thieves, copycats or tricksters to try and duplicate a 6 cylinder car into a GT with fake ID tags etc....

Do I have your details???

Hi Boxy

Thanx for the honesty 8) and I 100% understand where you are coming from by keeping that sort of detail on a need-2-know basis  which will then help preserve the originality of the "breed".

Fortuanitly this has opened my eyes to future endovours where I would previously just have jumped at a "GT" without looking deeper. Now I will get some pix and ask around for advice on authenticity.

Cheers
