Capri Perana gets a tarting up!
Re: Capri Perana gets a tarting up!
Hey Linney and John
don't be writing on this forum and having Paul reply, he has far too much work to do on my Perana.
I have insisted he works all over the Xmas holiday on it. To be fair I have arranged for a turkey leg and some roast potatoes to be sent into the garage for him on Xmas day itself, I'm good like that.

Hey Boss, you never mentioned a Xmas bonus before. I'll get right on it!!!Boss302 wrote:Hey Linney and John

John, I would like to do a thread on Mikes car but will have to talk to him first about it. Probably the best time would be when I'm finished my bit then Mike could continue with the rest of the build and document as he goes.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
Sorry to hear that you've just been through sh$t .
I read your post in Billy-the-kid's thread.
I'm thinking that you, he, and Alida can do a new thread on 'how to rebuild a relationship' !
I'm not sure I agree with Johann65 about the ugly woman though.
Have you heard of a 'two bag' woman, as maybe that's what he's referring to ?
On a serious note, do you find that helping your employer ( ) with his car takes your mind off all the kak ?
It's funny seeing the earlier version of my book. Did you rebuild your own engine too ?
Laterz,
Nick

Re: Capri Perana gets a tarting up!
I don't think any of us are qualified on rebuilding any relationships but if you want to get rid of one give us a shout.
As for engines, I've rebuilt many bikes from the ground up and quite a few car engines too, a few mowers, old style cash registers, watches, shit all sorts of mechanical stuff.
I raced offroad enduro for many years, bikes then cars so am quite used fixing stuff sometimes in very difficult conditions and having to use my imagination (and some of the local farmers fences and impliments sometimes also).
I did rebuild my engine myself, my first Ford V8, so found the book invaluable. I don't like to go in blind and am not too proud to ask if I don't know.
Even with my extensive mechanical experience I know I don't know everything so will ask whenever I need to. That's the way to learn stuff.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
I'm pleasantly envious that you can build a vehicle from scratch.
I'm still blown away with the amount there is to learn !
On Monday when I picked up the crank, I asked the guy a few questions, prompted by the book, and was amazed at the level of detail, some of which wasn't in the book.
I'll add the comments in the rebuild thread as it goes along.
And to think, until recently, I thought an engine was just an engine !

Nothing to be envious about Nick, the only difference is you haven't actually done it yet...........................note I said yet!!!Neek. wrote:I'm pleasantly envious that you can build a vehicle from scratch.
You strike me as the type of person who will always be after new things to learn, bit like me really.
PS: I thought you might like this pic of my friend Matt Backler (driving) and me (navigating) in our Baja Bug. We bought it as a used race car and did extensive work to the space frame, running gear and engine (2000L Kombi). Class winners 2 years in a row. Damn, a lot of that muddy water came in through the window ( we only had a windscreen ).

Then I saw the pic.
WTF !? Like anyone can see you both !
Now for f$$ks sake don't say ''yet'' again.
Only earlier on my way home my friend planted some seeds for roll bars and bull bars !
Standard looking stainless steel and he can make them with ease.
And then there's the auto shift kit to fit.
Then there's the new auto box clocks to install and wire up.
Then there's the shifter to wire up
Then there's the crafting and fitting of a 'thing' to hold coffees and bits 'n pieces.
Then there's .....................
That buggy driving looks like a loada fun !
Catchyalater,

Hi Paulushakespearius ( ),
I was looking at this thread again, and on page 5, about half way down the page, in the post dated Aug 8th 03.36am, you have a pic with the exhaust arches modified.
Do you happen to have a pic of the rear end before the modification ?
Laterz,
Nick

Neek:
Not Paul's car (this is ZAP's car):

Right exhaust is further out from centre line than the left one.
